Ditched Structure: Work in Progress
It has been a busy week for the staff at Duck Creek, as you can see from this post and the previous one. Things are moving forward, and that is GREAT news. The contractors moved in this week and started working on the Ditch 1/111 structure on the west side of Pool 1. Access to Unit A from the east is closed because of construction.
A coffer dam has been put across the ditch so that the new structure can be put in. Over the next few weeks a base will be put down and the foundation of the new structure will be poured. Most of the water coming down the ditch go into Pool 1. Some water could potentially flood into Pool 8 or be pumped into Ditch 1 below the structure. The last two months have been exceedingly dry around Duck Creek, which will benefit this work. The contractors are moving ahead and hopefully will accomplish this work in the next two months if the weather holds.
