The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ project is moving forward again. The contractors started pouring concrete for the new structure this week. Good weather should allow the work to move forward quickly. This is an important piece of the puzzle in the water-delivery system for Duck Creek. Ditch work this summer and the replacement of the Highway C culvert later on in the summer or early fall are the other elements of our scope of work that are related to the renovation of our water-delivery system.

This system allows water to be taken from the Castor River and directs it southwest down Ditch 111 to Pool 1. Pool 1 serves as a fishing lake and water reservoir to flood forested habitats in the fall and winter.
