There's a First Time for Everything!

Bagging that first deer is a big event in a young hunter’s life. Heck, it can be a big deal for an adult. I was over 40 when I shot my first whitetail, and I was ecstatic!

If you know a hunter, young or old, who recently passed this milestone, you can commemorate the achievement with a First Deer Certificate. The Conservation Department has offered the certificates for several years. In the past, you had to apply for one, then wait for it to arrive by regular mail. Today there is no wait. Just fill out the form and print it for immediate gratification. Add a photo from the big hunt, put the finished certificate in a frame, and you have memento the hunter will treasure for years.

Similar certificates are available for first turkeys and first fish.
