Where to Buy Charcoal Pans
If this is the first time you have seen one of my blog entries, HELLO! If you followed me from Conservation Conversations, THANK YOU, and welcome to Fresh Afield, my new blogging home. I look forward to continuing our exchange of ideas and information about the outdoors.
Several recent blog entries and comments have dealt with the Dutch-oven cooking article I wrote for the June issue of Missouri Conservationist magazine. The most recent one was about where to buy metal pans to hold charcoal.
One reader had trouble finding the pans and asked for help, which we got … sort of. We found a place that makes the pans. This week I found several farm-supply stores that stock them.
So, why did Conservationist readers have trouble finding them? I think the problem is that in the article, I called the pans “poultry watering pans.” It turns our their correct name is “hog pans.” Armed with this information, you should be able to find the pans at many farm-supply stores.
