FFA Means Future Foresters Too

FFA teams from Houston, Liberty, Norwood, Summersville, Salem and Sullivan worked with the Missouri Department of Conservation Eminence work team and the NRCS to help prepare for district contests. Eminence District Forester Terry Thompson said “it is great to get to work with these kids. They’re sharp, really keep us on our toes. It is good to see such bright kids going into careers like forestry. These are the ones that will be taking care of our natural resources in the future.” More than 60 students attended the practice sessions.

This is the second year the event has been held in coordination with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education at Twin Pines Conservation Education Center in Winona, Mo.
