Twin Pines Conservation Education Center in Winona will be changing it’s hours of operation on August 1, 2013 to better serve area patrons. The new hours of operation are Tuesday thru Saturday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Since opening on January 1, 2008, Twin Pines has been closed on Monday and Tuesday, open half a day on Sundays. With field trip days filled in late fall, opening the additional week day will offer opportunities for other area schools.

The change will also mean additional programming opportunities on Saturdays. Staff had to rotate weekends to allow for family time meaning the center was never fully staffed on Saturdays. The new hours include being fully staffed each Saturday. This will allow for activities such as open archery and guided hikes, family Discover Nature Programs and demonstrations now each week. Demonstrations scheduled include soapmaking, turkey call making, longbow making, using a shaving horse and more.
