Project Learning Tree® is an award-winning, multi-disciplinary environmental education program for PreK-12-grade educators and students. A program of the American Forest Foundation, PLT is one of the most widely used environmental education programs in the United States and abroad. It meets state and national education standards, and topics range from forests, wildlife and water to community planning, waste management and energy.

Achieve these goals

High school modules

  • Curriculum modules address contemporary environmental issues.
  • Modules include: Exploring Environmental Issues: Focus on Forests, Forest Ecology, Solid Waste Management, Risk Assessment, World Forests, The Built Environment and Biodiversity
  • Fun and challenging for older students
  • Correlates with lessons in social studies, language arts, science, geography and math
  • Offers opportunities for thematic units, research projects and field studies
