ST. CHARLES Mo — Once again, children of all ages—along with their adult companions—can spend a day discovering the wonders of wetlands. The annual Wetlands for Kids Day event comes once again to the St. Louis area at the August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area on Saturday, April 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This entertaining and educational family outing is hosted by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC), Ducks Unlimited, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and sponsored by Enterprise Rent-A-Car and US Bank.
Kids will enjoy a day of fun and discovery as they explore the important part wetlands play in nature. They’ll have the chance to see and touch live amphibians, reptiles and fish, navigate a duck-wing maze and crawl into a simulated beaver lodge, sample fried fish, see live birds of prey, touch animal pelts, shoot archery and air rifles, and watch live retriever-dog demonstrations.
Each kid will also get a free tree seedling and a free Ducks Unlimited Greenwing membership, along with a subscription to Puddler Magazine.
